WHO WE ARE

Vernalis

Technology has brought us hundreds of chemicals that have become part of our routine. However, due to the overuse of these products, both the environment and our bodies are showing more and more imbalances and diseases! To break this cycle, the time has come for awareness, the intelligent use of technology and the pursuit of healthy and enjoyable lifestyles, with more natural health, diet and beauty practices.

However, when people embark on this journey, they often do not find reliable information or data that translates well into simple everyday practices. We can never be sure whether the miracle tea advertised on the Internet can really help or if it can be bad for you.

Vernalis was created to meet this need and to avoid that this force for personal transformation gets lost in dubious practices. All of Vernalis’ work is scientifically endorsed. The name Vernalis comes from the Latin, meaning spring, inspired by the botanical name of the plants. It represents new opportunities, hope, and beauty!

As services, Vernalis offers educational activities, consulting, phytotherapy care and garden prescription.

Vernalis's main audience is people who seek a quality of life, health, and that love nature, whether or not they have prior knowledge of these subject matters. They want to interact more with plants and learn how to take care of themselves. We also offer specific activities for healthcare, landscaping and gastronomy professionals who want to help their patients and clients achieve these benefits and therefore stand out professionally.

Through plants, everyone can gain more control over their own health, and achieve superior results in every field of their lives! The change begins today!

Ana Cimbleris Alkmim

Born in Belo Horizonte, Ana Cimbleris Alkmim has always had a strong interest in self-managed and sustainable practices. The inspiration for getting involved in healthcare began when she became pregnant. The medical recommendations made to her during this period aroused questions. Would the recommended procedures and medications really be the best option for your health, and for your child's health? These doubts motivated her to direct her studies to the health sector.

So, she graduated in Pharmacy from UFMG, where she found her way through medicinal plants. She later became a Master of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UFMG), in the area of Collective Health, Specialist in Medicinal Plants (UFLA) and Specialist in Landscaping (INAP).

Ana worked with rural workers, indigenous people, Quilombola and Raizeira communities, and folk healers. She is a researcher and consultant in matters related to the production, processing, and use of medicinal plants, having coordinated for 8 years a herbal medicine program in the public health care system (Farmácia Viva) of Nova Lima, through the Kairós Institute.

Since 2003, she has been giving courses, workshops and lectures in the field of medicinal plants, phytotherapy, medicinal gastronomy and unconventional food plants for laypeople and professionals from various fields of expertise. Her experience includes educational activities in federal and private universities, regional councils of health professions, herbal medicine programs in the public health care system, non-governmental organizations, Inhotim Institute, among others. Nowadays, she coordinates the multi-professional Graduate Program in Medicinal Plants and Phytotherapy of Hone Institute.

Ana is also a herbalist, teaching people how to practice self care through medicinal plants according to their individual needs. As a sommelier of medicinal teas, she combines the quality of life pharmacologically provided by medicinal teas to the gastronomical experience. In addition, she is a landscaper of medicinal, gastronomic and agroecological gardens, working with the pharmaceutical prescription of gardens. She writes the column “Medicinal Garden” in the magazine Revista Natureza, from the publishing house Europa. Since 2010 she is a part of the Herbal Medicine Technical Group from the Regional Council of Pharmacy of Minas Gerais, that she now coordinates.

In 2017, to enhance the scope of her work, she idealized and founded Vernalis. Her professional performance is marked by great technical capacity and excellence in the quality of all work performed. Ana currently lives in a farm in São Sebastião das Águas Claras - Nova Lima (MG). Her passion for plants is her motivation to always be planting and harvesting, creating new blends of medicinal teas, studying, learning, and practicing what she teaches and teaching what she practices!
